Illuminated Village by Desjardins - Village Québécois d'Antan

Come experience the magic of Christmases past at the Village illuminé Desjardins 2025! Let yourself be amazed by the enchanting décor, the illuminated houses, and the festive atmosphere that surrounds the Village along its renewed pathway. Snow-covered streets, where lights cling to the branches, shimmer in the dormers, and wind along the galleries, will fill you with wonder. In this world where tradition, imagination, and fantasy come together, you and your family will meet characters as authentic as they are magical. Around the corner, a musician will whisk you into a lively rigodon; a little farther on, a fairy will reach out her hand to dance with you under the stars. And of course, the Village wouldn’t be the same without the warm presence of Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, who will welcome you into their cozy hideaway.

Filled with outdoor magic and heartwarming activities, the Village illuminé Desjardins offers countless experiences to enjoy. Alongside the toy workshop, fantastical tales, gatherings around the fire, and outdoor games, a variety of activities await you: the famous snowball fights and hockey bottine with Village characters bring the site to life, while game kiosks — such as axe throwing, the bottle game, bean bag toss, and the plush toy toss — add a playful touch to your visit. The brand-new Holiday Trail will immerse you in the traditions of yesteryear, from decorated Christmas trees to the Yule log and the lucky mistletoe. In front of the church slope, the slide promises bursts of laughter, while the outdoor fireplaces, including a brand-new one installed in front of the cheese factory, offer a well-deserved moment of comfort.

Nothing tastes better than holidays traditional meals!

Let yourself be tempted by a variety of quick bites: vegetable soup and savory meatball stew. To complete these comforting delights, a delicious spiked coffee or a rich hot chocolate will surely please anyone who enjoys warm and cozy beverages. Sweet tooths won’t be left out with the traditional maple doughnuts from the Donut shop, the fudge from the General Store or the classic molasses cookies from the bakery. These treats pay tribute to cherished traditions while adding a unique touch to your visit, all while remaining affordable for families.

At the bakery, the enveloping aroma of old-fashioned treats welcomes visitors the moment they step inside. Warm molasses cookies await, along with a comforting vegetable soup reminiscent of time-honored recipes that warms both hands and heart. Every bite is crafted to offer a savoury pause, staying true to the traditions that have shaped our winters.

At the donut shop, visitors rediscover the famous maple doughnuts, whose soft texture and generous flavour delight both young and old. There are also delicious old-fashioned chips to enjoy—crispy and fragrant, just like the ones once prepared in family kitchens. It’s the perfect stop for a sweet or savoury treat that evokes the simple pleasures of days gone by.

At the carriage kiosk, a warm atmosphere blends with the inviting aroma of steaming drinks. Spiked coffees and hot beverages are served to perfectly complement the stroll, especially when the air turns crisp and snowy. It’s a cozy little pause before continuing the adventure—an ideal stop to savour a gentle moment at the heart of the Illuminated Village.

At the General Store, nostalgia blends seamlessly with indulgence. Visitors find an entire area dedicated to candies, filled with colours and textures reminiscent of festive treats from years past. Traditional potato candy is carefully prepared here, along with a selection of delightful goodies to take home. It’s a place where memories are created just as quickly as they resurface.

At the Chalet, visitors rediscover timeless holiday classics. Cocktail sausages bring smiles with their festive simplicity, while the meatball stew evokes memories of large winter family gatherings. The Chalet also offers small alcoholic drinks that warm the spirit and pair beautifully with these seasonal favourites. It’s truly a must-visit for anyone seeking a comforting gourmet moment.

Foire aux questions

To make the most of the Village illuminé Desjardins , you can eat on the go and not miss a minute of the entertainment. The traditional holiday meal formula, as experienced during previous editions, is not available this season.

The experience will take place rain or shine, except in the event of significant storms. But if you really think about it, there’s more chance that we get a wonderfull snowfall instead of a thunderstorm…and we looooovvveeeee snow!

The usual time to visit all the site is 3 hours. Allow more time if you plan to have a drink, eat something and take full advantage of the outdoor facilities.

You are not required to book your tickets in advance, but we strongly recommend it.

You can definitely bring your children’s sleds to the Village illuminé Desjardins!  It’s nice to have a little rest when you’re a child and it’s a good exercise for parents! The skates, however, will not be useful since our villagers play boot hockey.
