Drummondville, November 12, 2019. – The next edition of the Desjardins Illuminated Village will be held on December 6, 7, 13 and 14 and from December 20 to January 3 inclusively (closed on December 25 and January 1), from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. For the occasion, the Village québécois d’antan (VQA) will be dressed up in its finest attire and will offer several new features.
We are fortunate to have an ideal site to allow our visitors to experience the holiday season with their loved ones,” says Guy Bellehumeur, General Manager of the VQA. With an enchanting decor of more than 25,000 sparkling lights, wonder quickly takes over! »
You’ll have the chance to meet Santa Claus and his elves (some more teasing than others!), to discover treasures at the Christmas market and to take advantage of nearly thirty indoor and outdoor activities: sharing traditions, a big slide, an animated play, traditional music, singing, dancing, outdoor games… and much more! Better yet, you can warm up by the outdoor fireplaces while enjoying delicious treats and hot drinks purchased at the donut shop, bakery or general store. A pure delight for the taste buds… and for the morale!
And that’s not all…
Experience the enlightenment at the Enlightenment Ceremony!
On December 7, at 4 p.m., visitors will be invited to attend the Lighting Ceremony, a special event organized to kick off the programming in style. After a short walk through the sleepy Village, the VQA team will inaugurate the Place festive Desjardins before proceeding with the official lighting of the Village: an event that promises to be memorable!
The brand new Place festive Desjardins
In collaboration with its main partner, the VQA is proud to present this year’s brand new Place festive Desjardins. It will be located on the land formerly occupied by the Faucher house, across from the bakery. Various artists will present short performances throughout the evening to amaze you and make you dance and sing, including members of the Gospangels choir and fire-eaters from the Crazy Fire Experience. A little preview: the arrival of the Mackinaw dance troupe will bring an extra touch of energy to the already entertaining nature of the event!

Let your taste buds soak up the traditions of the holiday season with our Visit and Meal package, a must-see at the Desjardins Illuminated Village!
