Permanent antique collection
Since 1977, the Village has collected objects that are tangible evidence of people, traditions and savoir-faire. These objects document more than a century of our history. The Village manages this important collection by maintaining an inventory that meets the criteria defined in its acquisition policy. Currently, the Village showcases more than 20,000 historical objects, covering the period of 1810-1930, thanks to the successive contribution of acquisitions, donations and loans for use.
Acquisition of antiques
The Village’s collection lives and evolves through its acquisitions. Each year, the Village receives numerous antiques that are the subject of specific agreements. The acquisition of antique items is part of the role and mission of the non-profit organization, allowing it to diversify its collection while contributing to the preservation of our collective heritage.
Donations are important to the Village. If you wish to entrust us with items, please fill out the donation form or contact Mr. Claude Tessier by phone at 819 478-1441 or 1 877 710-0267, ext. 240, or by e-mail at [email protected].
We reserve the right to refuse donations that do not meet our needs or correspond to the time period of the Village. In addition, we reserve the right to dispose of the items we own at our discretion, for the best interests of the Village, including to ensure its financing.

Sale of items belonging to the Village Québécois d’Antan (VQA)
Over the years, the VQA’s antique collection has expanded exceptionally. Sometimes, we sell specific items due to a lack of adequate space, an inventory surplus, multiple duplicates or failure to represent the period covered. If you are looking for specific items, please contact Mr. Claude Tessier by phone at 819 478-1441 or 1 877 710-0267, ext. 240, or by e-mail at [email protected].
